I am delighted to say that having released Stripped Back nearly a year ago on 9 April 2021, we are - at long last - taking it on the road, performing it as a trio line-up with Steve Birkett on guitars and vocals, Neil Ablard on percussion and yours truly on vocals and acoustic guitar. We have four dates agreed and we would love to get some more.
The album consisted of a re-working of six tracks from the last full-band studio album More Sinner Than Saint and four from the second studio album Believe, along with the previously-unreleased tracks Blues For Us and Washing All Over My Heart. Depending on timing, the set will include all the album tracks along with other RD tracks re-worked in the same style and some classic covers.
The first outing for the music in this format was at Pizza Express, Birmingham on 29 January, where it was received enthusiastically by a packed house.
We have already announced gigs as follows:
7 July (Postponed from 20 Mar) Barnoldswick Music & Arts Centre
There are two more locations agreed but not yet announced. We will be seeking further gigs for this format and if you are interested in discussing a booking, please contact us. The music is well suited to the more intimate, cafe style environments but it can also be presented in larger venues.
