THIS SHOW WAS ORIGINALLY SCHEDULED FOR 8 JAN - TICKETS FOR THE ORIGINAL DATE ARE STILL VALID
In association with our good friends at Shades Of Soul, award-winning artist Rebecca Downes makes a welcome return with her full band to perform her original blues/rock music as part of the Blues Train series of shows. With co-songwriter Steve Birkett on guitars, Neil Ablard on drums, Nigel Darvill on keys and Owen Davidson on bass she will perform music from her last three studio albums Believe, More Sinner Than Saint and the very recently-released The Space Between Us, along with one or two classic covers. This is a rare chance to catch Rebecca in London in what will be a very special show.
Birmingham-based Rebecca is a fully independent artist creating music with Steve Birkett and releasing it on her own label Mad Hat Records. She was voted Female Vocalist and Emerging Artist of the Year at the British Blues Awards 2016 and Female Blues Vocalist of the Year in the FORM UK Blues Awards 2018.
Rebecca has released one live album and five studio albums, the most recent of which came out in November 2022 to rave reviews from critics and music-lovers. Her 2019 album More Sinner Than Saint benefitted from advice from Rolling Stones producer Chris Kimsey, as well as mixing by LA-based Producer Bill Drescher and Chris Childs of UK rock band Thunder. Her latest offering – The Space Between Us – features ten new original numbers and an excellent cover of Free’s A Little Bit Of Love and was mixed and mastered by Gavin Monaghan whose extensive track record includes working with Editors, Scott Matthews, Robert Plant and Paolo Nutini.
As usual, the show will feature the power of Rebecca’s vocals, the virtuosity of Steve’s guitar-playing, the tightness of the rhythm section and the excellence of the Birkett/Downes song writing. It’s an occasion that is not to be missed. (Post by RD Management)
