We have watched the COVID-19 situation unfold with a sense of dread and disbelief. It has already brought the entertainment industry to a halt and the impacts on other businesses and industries are growing by the day. While the focus of most band/artists posts has understandably been about the effect on the music business, we are acutely aware that many of you reading this will be very worried about your jobs and income, to say nothing of the concerns about your health and that of those close to you.
In terms of the music, whilst HRH Blues has yet to be postponed, we are assuming it will be and our next gig in Lichfield in May must be at risk. We will update our gig schedule as postponements are made and re-arranged dates are agreed.
Steve and I have been working on a variety of new material and we will continue to do that as best we can, albeit that we will not be having face-to-face contact for a while.
I also hope to bring you some Facebook and YouTube live stuff in an effort to continue to entertain you in these difficult times.
And, don’t forget the Podcast – if you haven’t caught up with it yet, then do give it a listen. We have 11 episodes available on a wide range of platforms including YouTube and Spotify (please follow/subscribe) and we will continue to put one out every couple of weeks.
Finally, there has been a lot said about supporting artists through these times by the purchase of merchandise. We are hugely grateful to everyone who has ever bought anything from us (most recently those who bid so enthusiastically for the drum skins on eBay) and we will always be thankful for any purchase you make.
As I said at the beginning, though, these are acutely difficult times for people in a vast range of occupations and we are braced for the considerable economic impact this situation will have. All we can do today is to wish you all the very best as you battle through this situation. Please stay healthy, take care of yourselves and those close to you. We are determined to do the same. We will stay in touch ‘virtually’ in the coming weeks and we look forward to seeing and rocking with you on the other side of it xxx
