New Cover Video - Ordinary World

As those of you who have seen our stripped back/acoustic gigs and streams will know, we like a wide range of music and one of my all-time favourite tracks is Duran Duran’s ‘Ordinary World’. It is said that Simon LeBon was inspired to write it after not being recognised in the supermarket after a long period of sustained fame, hence being once again part of an "ordinary world”. But, in listening to the lyrics I thought they very much resonated with the current situation…

Papers in the roadside Tell of suffering and greed Fear today, forgot tomorrow Ooh, here besides the news Of holy war and holy need Ours is just a little sorrowed talk

And I don't cry for yesterday There's an ordinary world Somehow I have to find And as I try to make my way To the ordinary world I will learn to survive

So, the Birko and I thought we’d do our own take on it – socially distanced, of course – and it's below and on our YouTube channel.

Here’s hoping we find our familiar ‘ordinary world’ once again very soon xxx
